PMA Fresh Summit International Conference and Exposition
The DMA Solutions team attended the PMA Fresh Summit Conference and Expo Oct 2-5 in Anaheim, CA. The team scoped out exciting new marketing initiatives and product launches on the show floor, attended some informative workshops, networked with bright, young students from 12 universities around the globe and stalked a few celebrity chefs while we were there.

Live FIT 5K Run/Walk
DMA Solutions participated in the first annual Live FIT 5K event held on October 2 during the PMA Fresh Summit Conference & Expo. An overwhelming success its first year, the race sold out days in advance. We were thrilled to witness firsthand the solidarity and commitment shown by our fellow industry members in their support of the PMA Foundation for Industry Talent’s mission to attract, develop and retain talent.

The summit of Fresh Perspective events thus far, the 2009 Women’s Leadership Event was a once in a lifetime experience for those who attended. In an intimate Q&A Session, guest speaker, Condoleezza Rice, spoke candidly about her life experiences before, during and after her tenure as US Secretary of State. The event focused on produce in foodservice, combining the newest trends, top innovative products and most critical issues with the hottest culinary issues. Fresh Perspective: Women’s Networking Event at PMA Foodservice
DMA Solutions attended the first annual Fresh Perspective event at PMA Foodservice. The Fresh Perspective event attracted 110 attendees and collected more than 70 suits and other donations for Wardrobe for Opportunity (WFO), a Bay-area organization that provides professional clothing and career support to low-income job seekers.

DMA Solutions Welcomes New Team Members
We are pleased to introduce three new team members at DMA Solutions. Brock Nemecek, an account manager, brings a broad range of event planning and marketing experience. Also joining us are summer interns Morgan Mink from Texas A&M and Alex Jackson from George Mason University in Virginia.

Dan’l Mackey Almy Receives Leadership Award
United Fresh recognized Dan’l Mackey Almy with the 2009 Timothy Vaux Outstanding Alumni Leadership Award in April. This award honors individual graduates of the United Fresh Produce Industry Leadership Program who have demonstrated exceptional achievements over the past year in produce industry leadership; industry service and outreach; and community service.

The DMA Solutions team attended United Fresh 2009 in April in Las Vegas, NV. United Fresh Marketplace showcased the most innovative produce our industry has to offer, along with the latest products in the emerging fresh-prepared meals segment. United FreshTech featured the tools and technologies needed to produce the freshest in quality fruit and vegetable items. This event provides an excellent networking and education experience.

The DMA Solutions team attended the PMA Leadership Symposium in Dallas, TX January 14-16.

We were very excited about his year’s selected topics and took away some great thought-provoking and actionable nuggets of information. We would highly recommend this event to anyone in the produce industry who is looking for ways to think outside the box and build a stronger business both internally and externally.
