5 Things All Tour de Fresh Riders Know To Be True [GIFs]

dumbdumberPOSTThe inaugural Tour de Fresh is quickly approaching and all 40 riders are feverishly preparing for the 275-mile ride down the California coast. Training for an event like this requires dedication and can present the highest highs and the lowest lows, as we are learning every day. Below is a list of 5 things that we all know to be true:

  1. Bike seats are made of razor blades and bumblebees. Spending hours on a tiny, unmalleable seat can certainly feel like you’ve been attacked by both.

  1. Because we know that the above is true, we also know that products like Chamois Butt’r are essential. Aptly named, Chamois Butt’r is generously applied to a rider’s… well, you get the drift…. which decreases friction and intense discomfort.

  1. You can never have too many water bottle holders on your bike. Especially when training in Dallas. In the summer.

  1. Pasta is straight from heaven. Whether fueling or refueling, having a built-in reason to consume pasta is, well, heavenly. [Disclaimer: I eat whole wheat, protein-fortified pasta with fresh ingredients, so it’s energizing AND healthy. And still delicious.]

  1. Riding buddies are right behind pasta when it comes to things that cyclists appreciate. One part motivation, one part accountability, a friend that cycles with you is a friend indeed.

I’m sure that there will be many additions to this list before the Official Tour de Fresh Finish Line & Arrival Ceremony at Fresh Summit. Keep track of our training progress on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Also, please contact me if you’re interested in participating as a sponsor or rider in next year’s Tour de Fresh.

Official Finish Line & Arrival Ceremony

Please join us between the Anaheim Hilton and the Anaheim Convention Center on October 16, 2014, at 12:00 pm – we’d love to share (maybe) a plate of pasta with you!
