Best Apps for United Fresh Attendees

best-tradeshow-appsWith just a little more than a week until United Fresh, all of the major planning should be wrapping up and focus shifting to show execution.   We can’t wait to walk the show floors, and now that we’ve gotten our strategic plans in place, we are focused on making those three days in Chicago a bit easier by downloading these amazing apps:

Uber —

We don’t know where we’d be without Uber—literally. This request-a-ride app is a much better alternative to hailing cabs in downtown Chicago and usually much cheaper, too. Pricing is straightforward; you can pay directly in the app and even split the fare with traveling companions. We’ve had lots of good experiences with this company, and the drivers are friendly. AroundMe —

This app may be one of the handiest apps we’ve come across for traveling. While it’s likely you already know your way around Chicago, this app helps you find your favorite places (and hopefully some new ones!) a little easier. Wherever you are, this app will tell you what’s nearby. Find ATMs, restaurants (sort for those that accept online reservations), coffee shops, etc. with ease, and look forward to a weather update each morning. Get it for iOS | Get it for Android

Evernote

We live in a digital age, so dispel the notion that it’s rude to be on your phone when someone is speaking to a crowd of people. It’s OK to take notes, record sound bites, save pictures, etc. to this powerful app. Get it for iOS |Get it for Android

For Microsoft-lovers: OneNote is for you. It integrates smoothly with Outlook and your other favorite Microsoft apps, so feel free to use this one instead, if that’s your thing. Get it for iOS | Get it for Android

CamCard

Business cards will be one of the most valuable things you bring back to your business after this tradeshow. Forging new relationships face-to-face is why we do this, so the follow-up is crucial. This app lets you scan in business cards into a full-fledged digital contact that you can attach notes or pictures to and share with others. Get this app

Genius Scan

Keeping track of those tiny cab receipts just got easier. Create PDFs of your favorite presentations or handouts to review later. Go paperless—scan papers, notes, business cards all on the fly using your smartphone’s built-in camera. Get it for iOS | Get it for Android

Highlight –

Don’t forget to connect with other attendees on social media. This app aggregates live social feeds in your area, so you can see what others are sharing on the show floor. Get it for iOS | Get it for Android

Besides these apps, we of course recommend all the social media favorites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for live sharing at the expo. Don’t forget to include #UnitedFresh2015 in your posts, and check out these other social media tips before you head to Chicago.
