Summer is officially here, which means lots of food and drink are about to be imbibed. To follow up on FoodTrends 2019, we did a quick dive into the pool of emerging trends to give you a summer bucket list of things to try—and movements to keep your marketing eye on before the summer season gets into full swing.

2019 Summer Food Trends

Celery Juice

If you haven’t seen a mention of celery juice yet, you might just be living under a rock. While celery juice has been a buzzing new trend for some time now, we’re seeing it shaken and stirred a little bit extra ahead of summer. 🍹

Think celery juice margaritas, simple syrups, and even drinking shrubs for a mocktail twist.

Our take on green juice is everything you need this summer: it’s highly nutritious, clean, refreshing, and packs a little something extra with a dose of organic green tea. Recipe below! Pure Green Summer Green Juice (Serves 2) Ingredients: -1 small green apple, cored and chopped -1 large stalk of celery, chopped -1/2 fennel bulb, chopped -1 inch piece of ginger, peeled and grated -1 cup baby kale -Small handful fresh parsley -1 cup Tea’s Tea Pure Green green tea Directions: 1. Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender. Blend on high until completely smooth — about 1 minute. 2. Divide between two glasses, straining if you desire a more traditional juice consistency. Enjoy! #tastefullyless . . . . #teastea #greentea #greenjuice #tearecipe #icedtea #greenjuicerecipe #summerrecipe #healthydrink #summervibes #healthyrecipe #wellness #kale #ginger #juice #rawjuice #summer #antioxidants #celeryjuice #healthylifestyle #springrecipe #selfcare #greenjuices #summertime #easyrecipe #wellness #organic

Artisanal CBD

As CBD emerges (legally) onto the wellness market, people are finding unique and elevated ways to utilize the medicinal oil. From infused sodas to olive oil, these aren’t your hippy uncle’s “special” brownies:

“Sexier” Salads

It’s almost 2020, and the standard salad is getting a glow-up. From grilling to diverse greens, salad has been transformed into so much more of a foodie phenomenon than people expected.

“Healthier” Libations

Social drinking is a long-standing cultural activity that is not likely to go away given our entertaining-obsessed food sphere, but thanks to several emerging wellness trends, these interactions are getting an update with “better-for-you” drinking options. From alcoholic Kombucha to alcohol-free euphoric elixirs, natural wine, and “clean” cocktail mixers, this summer people will be cheers-ing with more mindful libations.

Feminist Branding

This “trend” has been around for quite a while, but we foresee even more elevation of woman-owned food & beverage businesses! As the food industry explodes with inspiring female leaders, their stories are being elevated through equitable storytelling by forces like Cherry Bombe magazine, through brands employing empowering labels, and by inspiring entrepreneurs stepping out into the space.
