What Fresh Summit Exhibitors Need to Know Before the Show

Guest blog post by Jamie Hillegas, Director of Tradeshows, Produce Marketing Association

From the overall format to the show floor, Fresh Summit 2018 is expected to be a completely revamped experience. Several of the changes are aimed at streamlining the show for exhibitors specifically. Here’s what you need to know before heading to Orlando:

Fresh Summit Exhibitor Information

New and Improved Schedule

The new exhibitor schedule addresses challenges exhibitors experienced in past years, in addition to providing more opportunities to network and take part in the entire event. For example, many exhibitors are unable to take part in Thursday education and networking due to general booth set-up and increased difficulty in getting produce delivered on Thursday. Changes include:

  • Extended set-up hours on early days: More hours have been added in order to facilitate the bulk of booth set-up earlier on. This year, exhibitors pay just $300 to upgrade their booth worker badge for an All-Access pass.
  • Clean Floor Policy: This year, booths that are 400 square feet (e.g. 20×20) or larger must complete major booth construction by 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Note: exhibitors will still have all day Thursday to finish up smaller booth construction and produce merchandising.

Fresh Summit Exhibitor Registration Changes

PMA has reorganized and streamlined registration to:

  • Enable you to control exactly what information is viewable by other attendees.
  • Make it easier for attendees to find and connect with exhibitors and vice versa.
  • Improve security and the ability to quickly contact attendees with instructions and information in the event of an emergency.

What That Means For Exhibitors

  • Trade Show Only passes will NOT be mailed in advance, and will require a unique email address to be provided and verified in order to enable expedited onsite badge pick-up by the individual. Booth worker badges will still be mailed if this preference was selected when you registered the badge. If you are picking up badges onsite, one person can still pick up all booth worker badges for their group.
  • Those who do not provide verification in advance must bring a photo ID and a business card to the registration desk.  Learn more about this new process here.
  • When you register, be sure to review and select what information you are most comfortable with having displayed.

As always, it’s also smart to take advantage of the PMA Marketing Toolbox for Exhibitors, which includes information on the Fresh Ideas Showcase, tips from Best of Show judges, a custom email signature creation tool, and more!
