Hair bows, balloons, Uncle Sam hats and Old Navy t-shirts boasting the colors of the American flag. We love red, white and blue and display it proudly each year as we celebrate our country’s birthday with parades, backyard barbeques and swim parties. Though this American holiday may not inspire the all-out home décor that others […]

Sister companies, collaborative initiatives and co-promotions are creating opportunities for multiple brands to occupy the same real estate and share their reach to target audiences. And, in order for these efforts to be most effective, it’s in all participants’ best interest for the “real estate” – whether digital or 3D – to be cohesive. That task is most often the responsibility of the marketer and we’ve been fortunate to have had many “make it work” moments that have resulted in that sought-after cohesion without compromising any of the partner’s brand guidelines.

In today’s fast paced, ever-changing world, it is not enough to simply be memorable. No, today it takes a lot of work to establish a brand for yourself whether you’re running for political office or trying to establish yourself in an industry where you believe passionately that your talents can make a positive difference.

I’ve become very conscious of the powerful personal brands in our own industry, and recently at United Fresh 2013 in San Diego, it hit me. I think that “Peeps” is a bit of a misnomer. These fluffy, sugar-coated calorie bombs don’t just tiptoe onto the scene. They rush into springtime with a ROAR, taking over Easter baskets like a plague. And their marketing prowess is just as aggressive, but in an effective, endearing and even hysterical way. We believe that “Brand” = Values + The People Who Support & Contribute To Them + What People Think About You. Marci will talk more about how to be a trusted brand in tomorrow’s post, but today we want to focus on the people part. When reviewing our own website and blog analytics we discovered that our Team and Authors pages are regularly two of the most visited pages on their respective sites, which is excellent news since your team page is ground zero for humanizing your brand.

This discovery indicates that visitors want to learn more about the individuals who support and contribute to your company values. They want to get to know you, in addition to knowing your products and services.

Isn’t there something about the first few days of spring that makes a person giddy? Warmer weather moves in, chilly winter fades away and the sun beams just a little bit brighter and longer each day. Parks become filled with families, kids ride their bikes, hit up their favorite fishing hole or create chalk art masterpieces on the sidewalk. And if that’s not enough to induce a zealous spirit, just leave it to NCAA’s March Madness basketball tournament and MLB’s opening day of baseball season to keep people cheering from the rooftops.

We got to talk with Jessica about her district’s salad bar journey and are excited to share her story below.
