Social Media Activities That Boost Website Traffic

Website Traffic

As a social media specialist at DMA Solutions, I’m intrigued by the amount of data we are able to retrieve from the marketing activities that we conduct on behalf of our clients each and every month.  One thing that has become abundantly clear to me is that the work that we do across social media networks is effectively driving traffic to our clients’ websites month in and month out.

Measuring visits to your website from your activity shared with social media communities is a great way to gauge how your audience is interacting with your content which in turn helps you plan more effectively.  When applied thoughtfully, the result should include an increase in content interaction (or engagement) with the content that you work so hard to populate each week!

Social Media Activities That Boost Website Traffic

Share your blog content and boost

“If you build it, they will come”, does not hold true when it comes to digital marketing tactics like websites, social media or blogging!  If you aim to optimize your website and/or blog traffic, weave the content that you’re drafting for your blog into your well orchestrated social media content plan.  If your budget will allow, adopt a strategy that boosts your social media posts that features blog content, or any link that directs traffic back to your website.  We recommend that you spend a minimum of $10 per boosted post and a maximum of $25 per.  If this concept is brand new to your line of thinking, give it a try for the month of September and let us know how it worked for you!

Include a “Link in Bio” on Instagram

Instagram has over 1 billion users per month and approximately 71% of businesses use it to share content. One of the downsides to this platform is that you cannot include clickable links within posts. The only link that can be displayed is the link in your Instagram bio. You have likely noticed this as people you follow mention “See my link in bio for more,” as a call to action.

Here at DMA Solutions, we are advising clients to consider using a software like Lnk.Bio to increase web traffic from Instagram to their company websites. Supercharging your link in bio with a feature like this will allow your brand’s Instagram bio to house multiple links within one. Whether it’s blog posts, recipe content, or other pages on your website, Lnk.Bio can include any and all in just one link.

Get Busy Pinning on Pinterest

Pinterest is one of the best social media sites for fresh produce companies because it focuses on highlighting visual content! Recipes and blog posts offer great visual content options for Pinterest and are some of the most popular types of content consumed.  Pinterest also offers a way for marketers to boost “pins” that work to drive traffic back to your website. As a social media marketer, I can attest that without fail, when a “pin” is successful in an advertising campaign, it can oftentimes out perform other social media platforms when driving traffic back to a website.

For some marketers, utilizing social media to boost website traffic could be a revelation!  Think about it, whether you’re reaching a B2B or B2C audience, as long as you have helpful content on your website, your social media communities have given you permission to offer them content that they may find valuable. If that information is on your website and you have a social media network within your reach where information and inspirational content can be shared, everybody wins!
