Learning Fueled by Apple™s … AND Apples

Recently, Dan’l wrote a letter to Mr. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple™, suggesting that the company donate a fraction of their $98 billion cash surplus to the Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools campaign. Several Facebook and Twitter users have supported our recommendation with likes and retweets, Linkedin has started a few conversations, and we’re not giving up! During our social media blitz, we came across this article that highlights a Texas school district and their $20.5 million investment in Apple™ devices.

Knowing that schools with a technology gap more than likely have a nutritional gap, too, we see an opportunity for Apple™ here (not that Tim Cook is asking for it). What if Apple™ donated salad bars to every school district that purchased iProduct learning devices for its’ students, in essence providing Apple™s AND apples for added incentive to some largely invested customers?

Wouldn’t it make sense for the brain power of students learning on Apple™ devices to be fueled by FRESH apples and other fruits and veggies? Wouldn’t you appreciate Apple™ just a little bit more knowing that they support education AND nutrition at the same time?

Of course, we as an industry must remain diligent in our own efforts to fund and place salad bars in schools. Help us spread the word by using the #ApplestoApples and #LetsMove hashtags on Twitter, liking this post on Facebook, or sharing this post with your friends!
