When 60 Is Hot

As a huge music buff, each year I look to see who is touring and which concerts to plan for. In 2008, I marveled at the comebacks of some of my favorite stars; Dolly Parton, Tina Turner and Cher were all on tour!

I saw Cher on her opening night in Las Vegas. 17 costume changes, the set was over the top. She sure knows how to entertain! Cher and Vegas works – worth the hefty ticket price.

Next, I went to Dolly’s concert in Dallas. I was impressed that she played eight different instruments and performed for almost two hours straight. I then saw her again in San Diego, and she was even better the second time! Dolly entertains, inspires and is truly an all around talent.

Tina’s opening night in Kansas City: Wow… I can’t imagine having that much energy and stamina now, much less when I am 60+! I have been known to “hit” Proud Mary in my day on many karaoke stages… and I am always left breathless, so I have nothing but sincere and true admiration for her!

It is amazing to see icons within the music industry overcome great odds to get where they are today, and to continue to reinvent themselves to remain hot, sexy, and competitive in an industry full of fresh faces and new talent. Would you believe Dolly is 62, Cher 63, and Tina 68? It makes you think, what am I doing enhance my image and keep competitive in my industry?

Next on my Hot 60 list is Bette Midler… she is on schedule at Caesar’s during United Fresh in April. Anyone game?
