Here are 4 things we have learned from reading Marketing Land:

Automated Ad Buying Continues to Increase in 2017

This year, nearly 80 percent of US display ad spend will be programmatic. That means approximately four out of every five dollars is spent on display ads. What exactly does that mean? Essentially buyers and sellers have more control over their automated buys. According to eMarketer, almost three-quarters of video ads will bought and sold programmatically by next year.

Google Has Introduced Fully-Automated “Smart” Display Campaigns

Although automation for campaigns isn’t new, Google has released new Smart Display Campaigns, which means it is not just creative that is automated anymore. Targeting, bidding and the ads are all run on autopilot. This new system “pulls advertiser-provided headlines, descriptions, logos and images to create responsive text, display and native ads. Bids are set as the system determines the likelihood of conversion”, according to the article written by Marketing Land.

In-Stream Video Ads Are Now on Twitter

As more consumers use their phone over their computer, advertisers are looking for ways to take advantage of this fact, and Twitter has given them what they want. Advertisers can now target their desired audiences with in-stream video ads, which helps reach the consumer in an engaged setting. In conjunction with this announcement from Twitter, they also released some insight and data from Nielson. This data shows that Twitter users that saw an ad were “50% more likely to be aware of the advertiser’s brand, and 14% had more favorable feelings towards the brand”.
