Okay, maybe there are more types of people because lucky for you, that’s not what this post is about! There ARE people who are planners and there are people who just don’t find planning to be second nature. But when it comes to digital marketing, there’s no doubt that you will need to hone your skills so that you are able to think ahead to your next post, campaign, coupon, partner, etc. because it’s a critical aspect of marketing. Here is how you can plan ahead for 3 major areas of your digital marketing.

Social Media Planning

When it comes to social media planning, being a step ahead is key. You’re going to want to know what holidays are approaching so you can make sure you are geared up to incorporate them into your daily digital conversations. The number one tool we find helpful for this is our social media calendar which lays out all of the fresh produce (and general!) holidays that you’ll want to have on your radar. The worst thing that can happen is if you’re an avocado grower and you realize that National Guacamole Day has come and gone without you even being aware! P.S. National Guacamole Day is September 16th, and we’re pretty excited about it.

Promotion Planning

Audiences LOVE promotions. A reason for them to engage with your brand and have the chance to win something? Sign them up! However, it is clear that a good promotion doesn’t happen overnight. A promotion takes (you guessed it) planning, design, and delivery. You’re going to want to have all of the details of your promotion under your belt in preparation for its launch. This is digital marketing after all, so you’re going to need some visually appealing digital aspects too, which we all know takes time to prepare. You’re also going to want to be ready to deliver your promotion in a successful manner in order to entice people to enter. If you can plan ahead and master all these steps, there’s no doubt that your promotion will be a breeze.

Partnership & Sponsorship Planning

One of the best part of promotions is the option to collaborate and work with other partners or sponsors. When it comes to eating something fresh and delicious, how often do you use one ingredient? Exactly. So now that you realize you’re going to want to incorporate sponsors, you need to realize that other brands want to incorporate sponsors too. By planning out your promotions early, you can also plan out the ideal sponsors you’d like to include. Chances are they are planning just as far ahead, so it’s incredibly important to reach out to them sooner than later!

Whether your end result is to achieve social success, have a successful promotion, or work with your ideal sponsors, it’s clear that planning ahead will help get you there. Now that spring is here and summer is approaching, it’s already time to start thinking about back-to-school, and even those holiday ideas!
